Ngahuia Group was established in 2017 bring together three of NZ’s iconic footwear brands, being Hannahs, Hush Puppies and Number One Shoes. At our core we are all about delivering on our customer proposition of “For The Love of Shoes”.
In early 2021, Tahua Partners, a fully-owned NZ company, purchased both Ngahuia Group and Burger King New Zealand to join it’s Starbucks business with the aim of creating a “Great Kiwi Business”, which Ngahuia Group is very proud to be a part of.

We are proud partners with I AM HOPE, an incredible organisation whose mission is to promote positive change around the way mental health is viewed and treated in New Zealand. They fund private care and counselling for young people who are “stuck in the mud” on waiting lists, and offer them hope and a voice.
One of the many initiatives to achieve this, is Gumboot Friday. Why gumboots? Because for those with depression, it’s like walking through mud every day. Gumboot Friday is a chance for Kiwis to show their support by chucking on their gummies and joining the conversation. We are promoting Gumboot Friday throughout our stores and across our site, as well as making a donation to the worthy cause.
