Trading & Sourcing Specialist - The Outlet & Torpedo7

At Ngahuia Retail (part of the Tahua Group – the Kiwi business behind Number One Shoes + Hannahs, Torpedo7, and The Outlet), we’re searching for a Trading & Sourcing Specialist to join our Trade team.

Based at our Support Hub in Takapuna, Auckland, this is a hands-on commercial role where you’ll support Torpedo7 and The Outlet, working closely with suppliers to keep the product pipeline sharp and flowing. From sourcing and negotiating to tracking performance and ensuring delivery, you’ll play a hands-on role in bringing ranges and opportunities to life.

What you’ll be doing:

• Support deal sourcing and negotiations to secure sharp commercial opportunities.
• Manage day-to-day supplier communications, including offshore partners.
• Keep stock flowing - from order placement through to stores and online.
• Coordinate samples, costings, and compliance checks.
• Track performance data and support commercial reporting.
• Collaborate with Trade, Logistics, Marketing, and Store teams to get product into customers’ hands.

What you’ll bring:

• Solid experience as a Merchandise Assistant or similar, with exposure to trading, planning, or sourcing.
• Strong organisational skills, able to balance multiple timelines and priorities.
• Commercial curiosity, a desire to understand how deals, margin, and sales results come together.
• Clear, professional communication and confidence managing supplier relationships.
• Competency with data and systems (Excel/Sheets essential, ERP experience an advantage).
• Initiative and accountability, ready to step up and own outcomes, not just tasks.
